Each chassis number is the last

vehicle produced in that month.

Beginning in the 1965 model year August 1964, the VIN/chassis number begins with the

2-digit model number, i.e. 21 for Panelvans, 23 for Kombis, etc.

The numbers below for 1965-up use the default prefix of 21 Panelvan.  

If you have a different model, your Bus will start with 23/24/etc.

The front axle numbers often have a 2- prefix, to indicate Type 2/Bus
