Usb 3.0 Graphic Adaptor Driver

We use DisplayLink chips in all our USB 2.0 and 3.0 graphics and laptop docking products. These drivers may be installed with or without hardware present yet. Final configuration will then be completed automatically when hardware is plugged in.Windows 8.1/8, Windows 7, and Vista

We recommend downloading the latest DisplayLink drivers for all version of Windows, as drivers are still being actively fixed and improved. The current DisplayLink drivers can be downloaded here:

DisplayLink Driver Version 7.7 M2

Please note that it is perfectly normal to have your monitors briefly flash black as if not connected or white once or more during installation. A reboot may be required and is recommended to complete install.

Our USB 2.0 universal docking stations such as the UD-160-A and the UD-PRO8 require an additional Ethernet driver that can be downloaded here:

At the current time, it appears OS X 10.9 Mavericks and 10.10 Yosemite have issues with most multiple monitor setups other than a single non-HDMI external display. Using 2 USB monitors or using an HDMI connection to a monitor even without USB graphics appears to cause problems on reboot. For more details on the situation with DisplayLink and OS X 10.9 and 10.10, please take a look at this blog post.

If you are a user that can stay on 10.8.5, DisplayLink s 2.3 Beta driver will work well for HDMI/DVI/VGA up to 4 additional USB-attached monitors. We recommend staying on 10.8.5 until the 10.9/10.10 problems are solved by Apple and DisplayLink. If you re using a version of OS X beyond 10.8.5, performance of DisplayLink USB graphics adapters will potentially be unsatisfactory, and is therefor not recommended.

If you already have 10.9 or 10.10, only a single USB-attached display using DVI or VGA to monitor, not HDMI will work reliably on OS X 10.9.

The Plugable USB3-VGA graphics adapter allows a standard VGA monitor to be connected to a Windows PC via a USB 3.0/2.0 connection. An adapter is required for every monitor you wish to connect via USB, up to six adapters per PC. Power is provided by USB. The adapter can display in resolutions up to 1920 1080. When the adapter is connected to your PC, graphics processing still is handled by your computer s central processor and graphics processor. The USB graphic adapter s DisplayLink drivers on the PC compress and transmit pixels to the USB adapter as pixels are updated. The adapter s DisplayLink DL-3100 chipset decodes the data and displays it. The adapter measures 3.5 inches long x 2 inches wide x 5/8 inches high, and its plastic casing sports a black glossy finish.

You can duplicate or extend your Windows desktop to the additional monitors connected via USB adapters. All monitors are configured using the standard Windows display control panel. Gain multitasking efficiency by using each monitor to show a different document or application. Simply drag a window from one monitor to another.

Moving windows between monitors is an easy drag-and-drop action.

If you need more monitors than you have USB ports on your PC, you can connect adapters through a USB hub. The USB3-VGA adapter can be used in conjunction with any of Plugable s other USB graphics adapters. Please note that USB graphics adapters not powered by DisplayLink technology cannot be used on your PC simultaneously with Plugable or any non-DisplayLink-based USB graphics adapters. Even the drivers for non-DisplayLink USB graphics adapters must be uninstalled from the PC. When the adapter is connected to a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 port on the PC, the increased data transmission speed makes it possible to display high-definition video without audio synchronization issues on 1080p-compliant displays.

WINDOWS VERSION COMPATIBILITY:

Drivers are provided automatically via the Microsoft Windows Update mechanism with approved drivers across for Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 8. 64-bit and full Aero support on Windows 7. Windows XP 64-bit not supported. Not compatible with ARM-based Windows MS Surface or Windows RT. Note that Microsoft limits multiple display support in Windows 7 Starter Edition to mirroring screens. Even though drivers are provided automatically, we recommend visiting the Plugable driver webpage for the most recent drivers and other information.

DisplayLink s Windows drivers make use of the main GPU for rendering, and require an Intel, nVidia, ATI/AMD primary graphics driver supporting WDDM to be installed. Most systems since Windows 7 satisfy this requirement.

Different USB graphics drivers types MCT/Tritton, SMSC, Fresco are not compatible on the same system. In particular, some versions of MCT drivers will bluescreen when other USB graphics drivers are also present. Uninstall other USB graphics driver types before switching types, and stay with a single type e.g. DisplayLink based on a single system.

Mac is not supported due to significant limitations in the operating system.

Linux is not supported for this device

If you re experiencing slowness or latency on your USB-connected display:Make sure your adapter is connected to a USB 3.0 port if available on your computer. If USB 3.0 is not available, play 3D games and videos on a display that isn t connected via USB.When all else fails, reduce your USB-connected monitor s screen resolution via the Windows display control panel.

By reducing the amount of data that needs to be compressed and sent over USB, you ll increase responsiveness.

USB graphics devices, like the USB3-VGA, are virtual devices where much of the heavy lifting is done by the CPU, by hooking into the graphics stack. The DirectX APIs used by games assume direct hardware access a PCIe graphics card.  DisplayLink s drivers attempt to emulate as much of the functionality as possible, which is why some 3D functionality like that needed for desktop and apps works.

We don t recommend running games with USB graphics, because this emulation cannot be perfect. And even without specific compatibility problems, performance will always be a challenge – the extra CPU work required for USB graphics will be a source of reduced frame rates and problems. Normal desktop and application use are fine because they don t push the system as hard as 3D games do.

Common problems experienced when trying to run a game on a USB graphics adapter include:Games not launchingGames crashingScreen flickeringScreen going black
